Pattani, Thailand, May 19, 2026 — The Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta organized an International Community Service program at Sasnasuksa School, Pattani, Thailand, on May 19, 2026. The activity was part of FITK’s efforts to expand its contribution to education through internationally oriented community service while strengthening academic networks and interactions with educational communities abroad.
The International Community Service program involved academic community members from various units within FITK. From the Mathematics Education Study Program, the activity was attended by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim, M.Pd. as a lecturer and Diva Nurfiana Subadi as a student. Both actively participated in various activities involving students and teachers at Sasnasuksa School. The program was designed to integrate aspects of education, culture, language, and socio-educational activities. One of the main activities was international teaching practice, which provided participants with opportunities to share educational experiences while gaining practical experience in teaching and interacting within an educational environment characterized by a different cultural background.
The activities also included cultural and language exchange, providing a platform for knowledge and experience sharing between participants from Indonesia and members of the school community in Pattani. These interactions enabled students and teachers to learn about cultural diversity and broaden their perspectives on educational life in Indonesia and Thailand. In addition, educational literacy enhancement was an important component of the program. Through various educational activities, the participants encouraged the development of students’ learning culture, knowledge, and skills. This approach was expected not only to strengthen academic competencies but also to foster students’ social skills, communication abilities, and character development.
The International Community Service program also featured various socio-educational activities involving students and teachers at Sasnasuksa School. This direct engagement created an interactive and collaborative learning environment while providing FITK academic community members with valuable experience in understanding the dynamics and educational needs of communities within an international context. The participation of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim, M.Pd. and Diva Nurfiana Subadi from the Mathematics Education Study Program also demonstrated the study program’s active involvement in the faculty’s internationalization agenda. This experience is expected to broaden the perspectives of lecturers and students, strengthen international academic networks, and open opportunities for future academic collaboration and international community service initiatives.
