Description | This course discusses (1) the concept of Islam as a system of faith, religion and object of study, (2) scientific thinking methodology: Greek/Western traditions (rational, empirical, repetitive, intuitive) and Arabic/Muslim traditions, (3) models of societal reasoning muslim: bayani; 'irfani, burhani, (4) classification of the meaning of Islam as an object of study 1: normative and historical; knowledge/thinking and practice. (5) classification of the meaning of Islam as object of study 2: aqidah, shari'ah, mu'amalah; morals and fiqh; (6) history of Islamic thought: the field of aqidah, the field of fiqh, the field of interpretation, Sufism and ethics, (7) models of Islamic studies in the classical era (prophet and companions); medieval era (Umayah, Abasiyah, Ottoman); modern and contemporary era, (8) development of Islamic studies in the Arab region; Africa; Europe and North America; Southeast Asia and Indonesia along with several figures and their works. (9) Islamic studies and the development of science, as well as contemporary issues. |
