Optimizing Academic Quality, S1 and S2 Mathematics Education of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Conducts Benchmarking Visit to UNS
The Undergraduate (S1) and Master’s (S2) Mathematics Education Study Programs of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta conducted a benchmarking visit to the S1 and S2 Mathematics Education Study Programs of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. The event, which took place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, was led directly by the management team of the study programs and attended by faculty representatives from both degree levels. This strategic visit aimed to explore best practices and broaden insights into academic governance to enhance the study programs' competitiveness at both national and international levels.
The meeting, which took place in a warm atmosphere on the UNS campus, featured in-depth discussions regarding curriculum development aligned with modern advancements, as well as strategies for curriculum synchronization between the S1 and S2 levels. Both parties shared frameworks to ensure that the transition and academic continuity from the undergraduate to the master's program run linearly and effectively, including potential acceleration pathways. Furthermore, the discussion addressed the management mechanisms of final capstone projects, both undergraduate thesesand master's theses in order to formulate quality standards for innovative student research and ideal timely graduation rates.
Another crucial aspect that became a primary focus during this benchmarking visit was tactical preparation for upcoming accreditation, covering both the national LAMDIK accreditation instruments and international certifications. Through this sharing session, the Mathematics Education team from UIN Sunan Kalijaga received valuable input concerning form management, fulfillment of quantitative and qualitative criteria, and consistent internal quality assurance strategies. This synergy in higher education cooperation is expected to strengthen sustainable academic collaboration while accelerating institutional quality improvements for both universities.
