Mathematics Education Study Program and Students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Hold Community Service Program at MAN 1 Boyolali
The Undergraduate (S1) and Master’s (S2) Mathematics Education Study Programs of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta successfully conducted a collaborative Community Service Program (PkM) at MAN 1 Boyolali on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. This initiative, which is regularly held every six months, involved all Study Programsmembers and student representatives from both degree programs, serving as a tangible manifestation of their ongoing commitment to implementing the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi). The arrival of the community service team from UIN Sunan Kalijaga was warmly received by the Head of MAN 1 Boyolali, Mr. Drs. H. Mahsun Alwaid, M.Ag., who highly commended the study programs' consistency in periodically supporting educational quality improvements within the Islamic high school environment.
The program was divided into two main sessions running in parallel: one tailored for students and the other for teachers. Speaking before the students, the team of Study Programsmembers and student representatives focused on breaking the stigma that mathematics is a daunting subject. Through various interactive and innovative approaches, the team introduced fun learning methods based on logic games and contextual simulations. This approach successfully sparked enthusiasm among the students, who actively and cheerfully explored and solved the given numerical challenges.
Meanwhile, in the teachers' meeting room, the session focused on strengthening pedagogical competence through training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration in the classroom. Featuring Iqbal Ramadani, M.Pd. as the keynote speaker, the teachers were equipped with strategies to leverage AI tools, not only for administrative purposes or creating adaptive learning media, but also for fostering critical thinking skills in students. Through case-based simulations, the session demonstrated how AI can be designed to spark deep discussions, training students to analyze the root causes of problems comprehensively rather than merely understanding the surface level of the subject matter. This mutual synergy is expected to inspire the teachers of MAN 1 Boyolali to continuously innovate by optimizing digital technology in their classrooms.
